Joining Moderna offers the unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering team that's revolutionizing medicine through mRNA technology, with a diverse pipeline of development programs across various diseases.

As an employee, you'll be part of a continually growing organization, working alongside exceptional colleagues and strategic partners worldwide, contributing to global health initiatives.

Moderna's commitment to advancing the technological frontier of mRNA medicines ensures a challenging and rewarding career experience, with the potential to make a significant impact on patients' lives worldwide.

Moderna is solidifying its presence within our international business services hub in Warsaw, Poland, a city renowned for its rich scientific and technological heritage. This hub provides critical functions, meeting the growing demand of Moderna’s global business operations. We're inviting professionals from around the world to join our mission and contribute to the future of mRNA medicines.

As an Associate Site Reliability Engineer, you will be at the heart of Moderna’s internal technology enablement efforts, contributing to a robust cloud infrastructure and developer platform. Based in Warsaw, this individual contributor role will directly support the Moderna Builder community — engaging with developers across the organization to design and deliver scalable, cloud-native DevOps solutions that underpin our cutting-edge web applications.

You will play a central role in shaping the next generation of Moderna’s internal software tooling, integrating automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and CI/CD pipelines to create a seamless and modern developer experience. In addition to strong technical execution, this role represents an opportunity to engage with platform-wide decisions, all within a dynamic global biotech organization driven by digital innovation. Close collaboration with engineering teams will also open opportunities to gain exposure to emerging Generative AI tools and methodologies being integrated across Moderna’s digital ecosystem.

Here’s What You’ll Do

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Driving new features from ideation through to delivery, ensuring extensibility and thoughtful system integration.

  • Building reliable, maintainable software that supports enterprise-scale developer needs.

  • Collaborating closely with web application developers to understand and translate business and platform requirements into technical solutions.

  • Provisioning AWS resources using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), enabling automation, scalability, and reliability across environments.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Designing, maintaining, and evolving CI/CD pipelines to support both Platform and Web Application development teams.

  • Optimizing tooling and workflows to continuously improve the developer experience.

  • Writing concise, effective documentation that enables internal developers to adopt frameworks and tools efficiently.

  • Staying abreast of cloud computing and web development trends to incorporate the latest innovations into platform evolution.

  • Participating in multiple concurrent projects within a fast-paced, highly collaborative engineering culture.

  • Partnering with internal teams to identify opportunities for integrating Generative AI solutions into development workflows.

The key Moderna Mindsets you’ll need to succeed in the role:

  • “We digitize everywhere possible using the power of code to maximize our impact on patients.”
In this role, your contributions to automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and developer enablement tools directly reflect Moderna’s commitment to building digital-first systems that scale rapidly and deliver real-world impact.

  • “We obsess over learning. We don’t have to be the smartest — we have to learn the fastest.”
Operating within a rapidly evolving cloud and DevOps environment requires a relentless curiosity and willingness to learn. From new AWS services to modern CI/CD tooling and AI-enabled solutions, you will be expected to grow continuously alongside the platform.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications):

  • 2+ years of experience in an SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering role.

  • Experience creating and maintaining AWS resources for platform or webapp development.

  • Knowledge of AWS best practices.

  • Familiar with AWS and IaC tools (e.g., Terraform or Pulumi) to manage and automate cloud infrastructure.

  • Experience creating continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for platform or webapp development.

  • Ability to work in an agile environment, collaborating with teams across disciplines.

  • A desire to make an impact as part of a high-growth, transformational company that is Bold, Relentless, Curious, and Collaborative.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience with containerized web application architectures.

  • Experience using GitHub Actions to create CI/CD processes.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
