An Administrative Technician job is available with the City of Fort Worth South Command Admin. This position includes routine clerical and administrative support to daily operations for the Deputy Chief of South Command Patrol.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Office Administration or a related field.
- Two (2) years of clerical and administrative experience.
- Must pass Drug Screen, Physical and CJIS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to achieve goals and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision
- Experience with purchase orders and PCARD spending
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude while possessing problem solving and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
The Administrative Technician job responsibilities include:
- Provide administrative assistance to South Command Deputy Chief by preparing documents, scheduling meetings, and maintaining calendars
- Receive and apply payments, gather data, and maintain annual budget
- Process requisitions, purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory
- Participate in special projects and provide input as needed
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class. Final candidates selected for hire in the Police Department will be subject to fingerprint/criminal history background check and polygraph examination, Applicants must not have used marijuana during the previous two (2) years, nor illegally used any controlled substances within the last five (5) years.
